head coach peter swander

Peter Swander is a San Francisco native who first encountered the game of lacrosse as a ten year old at Camp Dudley in upstate New York. It was an instant and permanent fascination. He captained the Branson School and went on to play the attack position at Wesleyan University. Coach Swander began coaching with Catch! Lacrosse, and went on to coach area schools such as Harvard-Westlake, USC, and has been the head coach of Westlake since 2018.


zach jewell

Zach Jewell is the Defensive Coordinator at Westlake High School and has been coaching high school lacrosse for 10 years. He spent 5 years at Newbury Park: one year as Defensive Coordinator, one year as Co-Head Coach, and three years as Head Coach. In addition to his time coaching at the high school level, Coach Z's experience includes multiple successful years coaching at Silverfin and as Coaching Director for Tribe Lacrosse in the SCLA. He remains active in the SCLA as Coaching Director for United Lacrosse. Zach grew up playing lacrosse in Houston, TX.

Zach McClain, or Zmac to everyone around him. Owner and Head Coach of WideOutU. Attended Kansas Wesleyan University on a football scholarship and was fortunate enough to have a career after college playing in the Arena/Indoor football leagues. Since then he’s obtained a Masters in Exercise Science, and began working and developing athletes of all ages and skill levels. With 10 years in the performance field, he has seen kids earn scholarships, win championships, and change their lives.

COach Bryce

Coach Bryce is the Head coach for the JV team at Westlake High School. He grew up playing lacrosse in Ventura County, playing for Westlake as a youth. Bryce went on to attend Camarillo High School, where he founded and captained the high school’s first Lacrosse program in school history. He graduated from Northern Arizona, where he played all four years and was captain and president of the team for his final two. Having 12 years of playing experience, Bryce is now beginning his coaching career where it all started.
